Trevor Fry is a contemporary artist who has expounded his dangerous visions in exhibitions in New Zealand, Australia and Taiwan. He creates fantastic ceramics of monster idols and archaic vessels that reference the history of art and contemporary culture.
His cross-disciplinary practice encompasses drawing, painting, sculpture, collage, video, performance, and installation. He completed his postgraduate studies at the University of Sydney (PhD, MVA Ceramics) in 2016, prior to this graduating from Victoria University of Wellington (BA History), and the University of Canterbury (Dip.F.A. Painting). Exhibitions include Breathless at Teststrip in Auckland, Implicated and Immune at Michael Lett Gallery Auckland, Sexes at Performance Space/Carriageworks, Sydney, Overundersidewaysdown at the Mosman Museum Sydney, the Gold Coast International Ceramic Art Award in Surfers Paradise and the Tainan National University of the Arts Post-Grad show at Chiayi City Koji Pottery Museum in Taiwan.
