Carmen Simmonds is a professional glass artist and tutor, working from her rural studio in Whanganui, New Zealand. With over 20 years’ experience, her practice predominantly employs the lost wax casting technique, and she is widely known for her sculptural dress forms and feminine glassworks.
Alongside her own practice, Carmen has over 15 years’ experience teaching glass casting workshops and has established Re-storyz, where she incorporates environmentally responsible studio practices, exploring thoughtful ways of working with materials, while minimising ecological impact.
