As a self-taught artist, Felicity’s practice is centred around highly textural pieces that merge impasto techniques and sculpting. Starting her art career in high school, she sidestepped to pursue a career as a chef (using food as the palette and plates as her canvas) and returned to art in 2022. Felicity is now focused on this vocation full time. New Zealand’s stunning scenery provides endless inspiration and whenever possible she heroes locations that speak to her. Each piece is built as a light‑responsive tactile experience to tell a story. She uses layering, texture pastes, sand and pumice, diatomaceous earth, and acrylics to build the terrain, and a brush, palette knife, and occasionally a piping bag, to apply them. Felicity’s creative process includes photography, clay work, and sculpture to record and honour our natural environments.
