Whanganui: the eclectic art capital of Aotearoa
March 15th - 24th 2024
Come visit our studio to experience unique and inspiring art paintings and installations by artist Jenny Kenny. Our collection encourages contemplation of communication, love of culture, social plots, and more. We welcome all fair, good-natured, and aspiring individuals to join us. Hot & cold drinks & sweet treats available. We can also arrange to open during the week, if required.
Artist's whakaaro or thoughts: The inspiration behind my artwork stems from my upbringing during the 70s, 80s, and 90s in Aotearoa. Even today, I reside in a diverse society guided by what I would like to think of is manaakitanga (hosting, care & support). Through my art, I aim to share some of my own interpretations of manaakitanga. Why I paint my imperfectly perfect Patu Figures is because I want to highlight the uniqueness that our Māori culture has for all of us. My goal is to promote our Māori art work and integrate it into various settings like homes, workplaces, and beyond.
