Susan's life has been spent exploring different mediums - paint, pencil, pen, clay, metals, wood and bone and photography. In the last few years she has been exploring vitreous (glass) enamels, enjoying the colour that they bring to her work. She was lucky enough to attend an intense short course in the UK and learnt from enameler Sheila MacDonald who gave has a huge amount of technical knowledge and who inspired her greatly.

The main aim of making for her is to convert the stuff which is inside herself into physical forms and she finds this therapeutic. Sometimes she plays with design, and at other times she likes to recreate the life around her almost directly.
