Kaye Coombs graduated from the Whanganui School of Design in 2001 with a degree in computer graphic design. She has worked as an art teacher for 20 years and creates her art in a converted woolshed. Kaye’s recent work ‘Senescence’ gained a merit award in the 2021 Pattillo Whanganui Arts Review, and she is a regular in the Whanganui Artist Open Studios. Her floralscapes experiment with digital processes, painting, and photography, layering opaque and translucent imagery. Her work serves as an agent to reflect on family history and visual memories — both real and imagined.
