Desiree Singer

Desiree found a passion for printmaking after completing 3 terms at Inverlochy House - Wellington in 2011 and has continued developing in this medium. Desiree uses various collagraphy, etching, woodcut and drypoint/intaglio techniques with a spirited approach to her work. Desiree considers her artworks to be contemporary, abstract and somewhat impressionist. Her inspiration is drawn from travel within NZ and internationally, significant life events, her home/garden environment, and from the great artists Monet, Modigliani, Matisse and Picasso. She has been involved in exhibitions in the Wellington and Rangitikei Districts, shown work in cafés and local galleries. Desiree is also one of the founding organisers of PUG Creative a Pop Up Gallery located in Marton in 2016 and again 2017. This venture promoted local Marton artists and artisans and some from other areas such as Wanganui and Palmerston North. Desiree is located in Marton and her work is available to view by appointment. Her limited edition etchings are available framed or mounted.
