Perhaps best known locally for her characterful, quirky and endearing animal printmaking artworks, namely ‘Kunes On A Cloudy’ and ‘Quirky Lamoid,’ Keeley is a Yorkshire-born artist residing in the beautiful River City of Whanganui.

As well as a background in writing and communications, she has always had a keen interest in the arts and an intrinsic need for creative expression.

Inspired by nature, animals, emotions and more her main focus is printmaking and ceramics, however she enjoys exploring many other art forms including mixed media and cyanotype.

Initially relocating to Christchurch, NZ in 2009 she was drawn to Whanganui in 2011 as a visitor to that year’s Artists Open Studios (AOS) event. The visit took place while she and Whanganui-born partner Brad Mosen were displaced and in-limbo from the catastrophic Canterbury earthquakes.

Keeley found this post-quake AOS visit to be a real tonic and was delighted by the diverse talent, vibrancy and sheer scale of Whanganui’s then ‘little-known-about’ art scene.

This persuaded her to stay in town a little longer − and that ‘little longer’ has since become 15 years of Keeley calling Whanganui home.

Keeley believes that art and craft made by human hands, hearts and minds plays a huge role in fostering hope, connection and healing. This remains a key driver for her art, writing and wider creative journey.

You may remember her as a ‘Brunswick Art Collective’ member − Keeley, Brad and their group of creative friends and family exhibited in the 2018 and 2019 AOS events from their rural Brunswick cottage and garden.

Fast forward six years and she and Brad are excited to be re-entering the world of AOS for the 2026 event.

For the first time they’ll be joining forces with their friend and fellow creative Lucile Barjot and exhibiting from her Aramoho gallery space as their new collective studio, ‘The Art Triangle.’

The studio is set in Lucile’s sprawling green garden which appropriately has nostalgic views of the Brunswick hills, back in the direction of where Brad and Keeley’s AOS journey first began.

A selection of Keeley’s work is represented by a range of art gallery / gift outlets in the central / lower North Island, including Whanganui’s ‘Eightyeightputiki’, New Plymouth’s ‘The White Sail Gallery’ and Palmerston North’s ‘Lightbox Gallery.’

A range of her fine art prints and cards are also available through Whanganui’s ‘The Yellow House Café’ and Kimbolton’s ‘Hansen’s Café.’
