Brad Mosen Photography
Brad was born and raised in Whanganui and in 2011 returned to his hometown after spending several years living and working in the UK and travelling around Europe.
From an early age, following in his maternal grandfather’s footsteps, he has had a love of photography. His inspirations include nature and the natural landscape and when he gets the chance he enjoys trying to capture their beauty and essence through his lens.
He first debuted on to the ‘Artists Open Studios Whanganui (AOSW)’ scene in 2018 alongside his artist partner Keeley Eastwood and their group of creative friends and family, going by the name of ‘Brunswick Art Collective.’ The group exhibited from Brad and Keeley’s rural Brunswick home in an old Skyline Garage which they converted into an art gallery / studio space.
With Brad and Keeley’s child born just three days after the 2018 event, they went on to exhibit again in the 2019 event and were also set to take part in 2020, however this event was cancelled due to global pandemic.
Later in 2020 Brad and Keeley relocated into town and other members of the Collective have since moved on, most of them geographically.
In 2022 Brad joined forces with his partner Keeley Eastwood in their first joint solo official art gallery exhibition titled ‘Capturing the Fall’ at Hawera’s ‘Lysaght Watt Gallery.’ This exhibition featured Brad’s selected photography work alongside Keeley’s printmaking and cyanotype works.
In 2024 he was awarded ‘highly commended’ and ‘commended’ for two of his photography works on entering the ‘Iris Professional Photography Awards’ hosted by the NZIPP’s ‘New Zealand Amateur Photography Awards.’ He entered again in 2025 was awarded ‘commended’ for a further two of his works.
In May 2025 Brad had his ‘Aurora on the Awa’ photograph on acrylic work accepted into the ‘Te Whare o Rehua Sarjeant Gallery 2025 Pattillo Whanganui Arts Review’ and this work later sold during the Review exhibition.
Brad has also had several of his works appear in previous Sarjeant Gallery annual Whanganui Art Reviews as well as in the ‘Taranaki Art Awards.’ His works can also be seen and purchased on his website (see link in profile), at Palmerston North’s ‘Lightbox Gallery,’ at ad hoc events and in the occasional cafe about town.
For AOS 2026, Brad is excited to be re-entering the world of AOS with partner Keeley. The pair will be joining forces with their friend and fellow creative Lucile Barjot, a potter who is new on the AOS scene.
They’ll be exhibiting under their new studio name of ‘The Art Triangle’ from Lucile’s Aramoho gallery / studio space. This is set in a sprawling green garden with nostalgic views to the Brunswick hills in the direction of where Brad and Keeley’s AOS journey first began.
