41 – Country Art
Janis is a Science teacher who enjoys experimenting with different media, techniques and topics.
She has a wide variety of paintings on display in the studio.
The first painting in the AOS Guide is done in oil and knife and depicts a row of very old trees 'standing guard' on Castlewood Road, Dunedin (just down from Larnach castle).
The second painting shows a favourite technique of using watercolour 'splat' for the background and then painting an acrylic image on top. In this case the image is of New Zealand's iconic merino sheep.
Several other paintings using this technique are also on display in the studio.
Most images are available on cards and some as prints.
We hope you enjoy your visit to Country Art' Studio and consider purchasing a memento of your visit.
