Dear potential visitors to our gallery & studio,
After thoroughly following and researching the worldwide extreme developments re Covid -19 we have decided to close our doors for this event.
We feel we have a profound obligation and responsibility to protect our visitors as well as ourselves from this rapidly spreading virus as much as we can.
Take care and best wishes
Eva and Heina Petzold
I am an internationally acclaimed and multi-award winning stone sculptor with 27 years of experience as a professional artist. I immigrated to New Zealand in 1993 from Germany (Berlin). I am a Supreme Award winner, having represented New Zealand at a prestigious International Sculpture Symposium in Switzerland (Lake Geneva) in 2005 (35 selected sculptors from 16 countries participated). I am also a trained, highly experienced and award winning international art events coordinator together with my husband and fellow artist Heina Petzold (in the nineties we organised 8 national (NZ) and 3 international sculpting symposia (Australia and Germany). 1998 we won the Supreme Award for best cultural event of the year in the context of the National Australian Sister Cities Association's cultural program (representing Christchurch at 25th Sister City Anniversary in Adelaide).
I have a BA (Hon) in Fine Arts/Psychology, and I am a qualified PR Consultant and Specialist in Tourism. In 2012 I also received level 4 NZ qualification in Human Services (specializing and working in palliative care for 3 years). After - for many years- running our own gallery in Oneroa, Waiheke Island we moved to Whanganui in 2015 (also to be closer to grandchildren) and established in 1 Gloucester Street the Awa Art Hub gallery, Studio and sculpture garden as well as a unique Airbnb (find link on my website; we are superhosts). Unfortunately we are forced to close our gallery and our Airbnb until September this year due to a major, very disruptive Council infrastructure/stormwater project in our street.
Fortunately, for this year's AOS event we found a beautiful alternative exhibition space in 4 Taranaki Street in St Johns Hill; a colourful, Spanish style, palm fringed property with a lovely artistic flair. Come and see for yourself! Thank you so much Phil for hosting us!
I have been selling my creations successfully in NZ and to overseas customers for 27 years. These days I mainly work to order. www.evabusch.co.nzMediums: Garden art, Sculpture, Sculpture - Stone
