Exploring what constitutes making a contemporary image and its translation into different media is at the heart of my practice, with a focus on glass engraving on panels and objects. Currently I work with found clear blown glass and float glass that I sometimes silver to make engraved mirrors using the techniques pioneered by John Hutton. I create these works based on my drawings, photographs and digital collages of the two.
My practice also explores the options surrounding the presentation of engraving. Framing it as as a picture questions perception of the image and the object, with the glass as medium and artwork, instead of being the invisible conduit for the contents underneath.Mediums: Engraving, Glass works
